Integration Task Force

What's changing

As part of the integration and consolidation of technology infrastructure between Bay Path University and Cambridge College, the Office of Information Technology is planning to refresh the branding of the University's Single Sign-On (SSO) service. This change will take place on November 4th, 2024 at 5:00 PM Eastern. No action is required from you as part of this change.

Who's impacted

All individuals who utilize Bay Path University services will be impacted by this change. This change will not impact multi-factor authentication services such as Duo.

Why it's important

The planned change to Single Sign-On (SSO) is important for two key reasons:

Migration of Cambridge College identity services

The Office of Information Technology has made significant progress on the back-end infrastructure to establish a robust and secure trust relationship between the identity access and account management platforms of Bay Path University and Cambridge College. This foundational work is critical as it ensures that both institutions can securely share and manage user identities, enabling seamless access to various services.

We are now transitioning to the front-end development of our services, marking an important milestone in the integration process. The redesign of the SSO service represents the first public-facing step toward a more cohesive user experience. While there are no changes for individuals with @go.cambridgecollege.edu and @cambridgecollege.edu email addresses today, in the future, this SSO redesign will allow users from both institutions to access shared resources with a single set of login credentials, streamlining access and enhancing user convenience.

Looking ahead, the Office of Information Technology plans to migrate the services currently offered by Cambridge College onto this unified Single Sign-On platform. This migration will not only improve the accessibility of services for users but also bolster security measures by centralizing account management. Over time, users can expect a more integrated experience, where accessing resources across both institutions becomes effortless and efficient.

Support for Spanish

The new SSO platform will fully support Spanish as a language option. This inclusion reflects our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that Spanish-speaking users can navigate the platform with ease.
